Fariha Tariq was awarded with a Fulbright scholarship for doing PhD from North Carolina State University, U.S.A. She has done Bachelors in City and Regional Planning and Masters in Architecture from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.

Fariha Tariq focuses her interests in methodologies of settlement design and housing in the Third World. She is working with Affordable Housing Institute (AHI) in Boston on low-cost housing project in disaster prone areas. She has served as a researcher to United Nations-Habitat, and to the Planning Wing, CDA, Islamabad. Much of her work is documented in publications. She attended and presented in various U.S and International conferences.
