Dr. Hamid Arshad is an urban planner and assistant professor at the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of Management and Technology. He has an academic background in City and Regional Planning with his doctorate in Rural and Regional Development Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He has been awarded multiple international scholarships for education and training, including the government of Pakistan’s full master’s and Ph.D. scholarship, Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in Spain, and the PROSPER.NET Young Researcher program in Japan, among others. His doctoral research investigates environmental injustice in terms of urban green spaces based upon the socioeconomic disparity in medium cities of Pakistan. He is currently interested in community behaviors and environmental psychology to associate these with the socioeconomic disparity and physical planning for sustainable development in urban spaces.
