Biography

Dr. Farrukh Baig is an Assistant Professor and Program Head in the Department of City & Regional Planning at UMT Lahore, specializing in Town Planning, sustainable urban mobility, climate-resilient transport systems, and smart city technologies. With a Ph.D. in Transportation Planning (Central South University, China) and multiple awards, including Outstanding International Graduate, his research examines public behavior toward emerging transport solutions, urban livability, and disaster-responsive planning. As a certified town planner (PCATP), he has led master-planning projects across Pakistan, published in top journals (Nature Cities, Transportation Research Part A), and serves as a reviewer for 20+ international journals. His expertise spans quantitative modeling, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on equitable and tech-driven urban development.
