•Received Bachelor Architecture Degree in 1st Division from UET Lahore, in 1970.
•Received M.S Degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute, School of Architecture and City Planning, New York, USA, in 1973, achieving a CGPA of 3.78 and majoring in Tropical Architecture.
•Possessing over 45 years highly diversified and well blended professional ,teaching and research experience in Architecture/Planning as well as the use and integration of conventional and non conventional architectural structures in buildings.
•Vast Professional exposure of working in different capacities ranging from Space Planner to Job Architect/Team Leader to advisor on various assignments related to complex issues related to architecture/planning to structural / construction systems , project execution, site management / supervision, preparation of shop / working drawings etc. with various national and international consultants/contractors in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and USA, on a variety of multidisciplinary projects of micro and macro scale in the field of housing, education, healthcare, recreational, aviation, urban redevelopment schemes, landscaping etc.

Associated as a faculty member with School of Architecture & Planning, Department of Architecture, University of Management & Technology, Lahore to teach, advice and counsel Undergraduate as well as Masters students.
August 2002- June 2011
As a faculty member with Military College of Engineering (a NUST constituent institution) at Risalpur, KPK. Besides teaching Architecture/Planning, Architectural & Civil Engineering Drawing, Quantities & Estimation of Building Materials to UG and Masters students of Civil Engineering, was also actively engaged with Architectural Consultancy Services offered to various military institutions. Major projects undertaken were:

1.Modification/addition/alterations to the Headquarters of the Punjab Regiment Centre at Mardan.
2.Punjab Regiment Commercial Centre, Mardan
3.Central Mosque for Staff Residential Complex, Risalpur Garrison Boys & Girls High School, Peshawar Cantt.
4.Restoration of Commandant’s House, Risalpur Cantt. (A project focused on adaptability and reuse of 19th Century colonial style Mansion)
5.Reorganization / Enhancement of the Training Battalion parade Ground Facilities at Risalpur Cantt.
6.Central Mosque for CSD at Nowshehra Cantt.
7.Heavy Vehicles/Tanks maintenance workshops and covered parking sheds at Nowshehra Cantt.

August 2001 – August 2002
Architectural Consultancy for various commercial, residential, educational and health care projects in Lahore.
List of key projects:
1.Master Plan Layout for Al-Huda Medical College & Teaching Hospital, Canal Bank Road, Lahore.
2.Six bedroom House for Commodore Shah Mohammad in Fazaia Housing Society at Fatehjang.

August 1999 - July 2001
Worked with J&P (Overseas) Ltd. At New Lahore Airport Terminal Building & Allied Facilities. Job involved preparation of Shop Drawings, Materials Scheduling, Coordination with systems drawings i.e. Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, etc., as well as site supervision.

February 1998 - July 1999
Engaged with a team of Architects/Planners/Engineers who did Retrofit & Turnkey Projects in the field of Housing, Commercial, Residential, Fast food units, Schools, etc. in Pakistan.

November 1996 – January 1998
Associated as Principal project controller with a local Architectural Consulting firm on the planning/design & preparation of construction documents and services for a 400-bed hospital in Saudi Arabia. Entire project was done on AutoCAD.

October 1982 – September 1996
As Assistant Professor at College of Architecture & Planning, King Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

November 1977 – September 1982
As Manager Facilities Planning with Pakistan International Airlines, reporting directly to Director Engineering, as well as Director Corporate Development. Job responsibilities were:
-Coordination with different national and international aviation authorities on matters regarding development of Infrastructure & Facilities matching with airline expansion plans. This not only involved Terminal, Cargo, Catering, Ticketing, and Sales Facilities but Aircraft Maintenance/Engineering & Flight Operations facilities as well.
-Identifying Airline’s future needs and development of short, medium, & long range plans for the ground facilities requirement to cater for projected expansion plans.
-Coordinate with various in-house and international funding agencies to ensure adequate budget provision and timely availability of finances for smooth execution of all projects.
-Project Management and Site Supervision.
-Co-ordinating and assisting user departments with regard to the development of their facilities/space requirements.
-Close monitoring/execution of structural, electromechanical, HVAC, safety, fire fighting, and communication system with the consultants and contractors to ensure conflict free integration with architectural design.

Major Projects undertaken/associated with consultants were:

-Wide bodied Aircraft Maintenance Hangar at Karachi International Airport. 1980-82.
-PIA’s New Town Terminal/Sales Offices at Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi. 1978-82.
-Proposed new Passenger Terminal Facilities and other allied amenities at Lahore and Islamabad. 1978-82.
-300 Bed hospital for PIA employees at Karachi. 1978-81.
-Extension of Flight Kitchen at Karachi Airport. 1978-82.
-Extension of PIA Staff Housing Colony, High School, Mosque, and Commercial Center. 1978-82.
-Expansion of Cargo and Bonded Warehouse Complex at Karachi Airport. 1977-82.
-Extension/Improvement of Cargo Handling facilities at Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Faisalabad. 1977-82.
-Extension/Improvement of Engineering/Maintenance facilities at all airports. 1977-82.
-Interim extension of existing Terminal/Engineering and Maintenance facilities at Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi airports. 1978-81.
-Job also involved co-ordination with 25 - 30 technical staff comprising of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Financial Analysts, Fleet Planners etc. reporting directly to me.
May 1977 – November 1977
As Principal Architect with Allied Engineering Consultants. Architects/Planners/Engineers, Lahore, Pakistan, on the design, specifications, bid evaluation, and construction supervision of several Educational, Institutional, Housing, and Healthcare projects. Also, close co-ordination with the Chief Executive on the development of projects, securing new projects as well as responsible for controlling net man hours through most efficient staff management and work output.

June 1976 – April 1977
As Senior Architect with Engineering and Technical Consultants, Lahore, Pakistan, on various assignments ranging from preparation of Project Feasibility reports, Urban redevelopment schemes, preparation of detailed working drawings for construction, coordination/ supervision, checking of shop drawings, submitted by contractors, for various Commercial, Institutional, and Recreational/Sports projects at different locations in Pakistan.
The job also involved frequent interaction with the clients and briefing the Chief Executive accordingly.

June 1975 – February 1976
Worked with Clements/Rumple and Associates, Architects, Planners, Jacksonville, Florida, USA, in the capacity of an Architectural Designer/Construction Coordinator on Educational, Home for the elderly, Recreational, Commercial, Religious, and Healthcare projects. Also, several HUD (Housing & Urban Development) projects sponsored by the State of Florida.

January 1974 – June 1975
Space Planner/Designer with Kemp, Alford, and Associates Architects/Designers/Developers/Real-estate Management, Jacksonville, Florida, USA. Job involved design development, preparation of construction details, building construction documents, and site supervision of Office Buildings, Commercial Complex/Shopping Malls, Religious, Educational, and National Guard Armories. Also Prefab Housing Complex for US Naval Staff at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville.

July 1972 – August 1973
Worked with Emory Roth and Associates, Architects/Planners and Real-estate Management Consultants, New York City, USA, as Designer/Detailer. Was associated with preparation of construction details for several multistory apartment blocks and the World Trade Center in New York City.

November 1970 – May 1972
Architect with Indus Associated Consultants, Lahore, Pakistan, a leading Architects/Engineers/Planners firm since 1963 and worked on key architectural and engineering projects in the country. Independently handled several Commercial, Educational, Sports / Housing Complex, and Healthcare projects. through all phases of Design, Detailing, Bidding / Construction Documents, Site Execution & Supervision.

Presentation in International Symposia / Conferences:
•Attended four days conference on “The Planning & Design of Airports/ Terminal Facilities and allied facilities” organized by ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization in London,UK in Sept. 1979.
•Participated in one week duration conference on “Automated Passenger Baggage Handling facility” organized by ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization, in Montreal, Canada in July, 1980.
•Attended a five day conference/workshop on “The Planning/Design of New Changi International Airport in Singapore” sponsored by Singapore International Airlines.
•Attended triennial conference on “Cargo Handling Facilities” organized by IATA- International Air Transportation Authority held at Karachi International Airport.

•Design, Fabrication, Lab. Testing and installation of thin, lightweight floor & roof panels for short to medium spans in semi circular cross section using Ferrocement construction technology system . A thesis project undertaken by undergrad. Students of Civil Engineering at NUST.
•Design, Fabrication, Lab. Testing and live demo. of use of Air Inflated and Pneumatic Structures as instantaneous solution to provide flexible roof over a large area to be used as temporary shelter in case of any disaster.
•“Geodesic Dome” Roof Structure as an option to provide an efficient and lightweight roof covered roof over a swimming pool - A thesis project undertaken by undergrad. Students of Civil Engineering at NUST.
•DIY – Do It Yourself TWO Room Basic Shelter Design in earthquake affected areas using lightweight sections of mild steel. A mass relief project offered by Corps of Engineers, Pakistan Army.
•“Tilt-up” Wall Panels in lightweight RCC construction for three storey high office building in Deerwood County, Florida, USA.
•Low rise Apartment Building using “Slip-Form” Construction system – thesis project undertaken by Undergrad. Civil Engineering students at NUST.

•Affordable and Sustainable basic shelter – Prototype Design of An Earth Integrated subterranean living space using ferro - cement technology.
•An overview of Issues related to Crisis seen in the development of Pakistan’s Urban Built Environment with focus on Terrorism.
•Effects of Globalization on the socio cultural fabric and the urban built environment of Pakistan.
•Comparative analysis of the two Great Mosques at Sammarra, Iraq and Ibn Tulun, Cairo, Egypt.
