Ms Malik has been faculty member at School Of Architecture and Planning (SAP) since for last four years. She joined UMT as a lecturer in May 2012 when SAP was a department under School of Science and Technology but with the passage of time and hard work of faculty, the department promoted as school with encouraging enrollment of students year wise. Since then she is working whole heartedly for the establishment and growth of the school. Her dedication for academia prompted her to pursue postgraduate studies from abroad. Ms Malik completed her Master’s degree in Housing from University Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2014 with outstanding grade. She presented seminar paper during her stay at USM. The interest for research was also reshaped and she got command on how to conduct research. This resulted in publication of her first research paper in December 2014 in an international journal. Considering such efforts for the love of academia and research, she promoted to Assistant Professor in Feb 2015.

The previous experience in the practical field has strengthened her capabilities in the academic field. Some of her designed and executed projects include such as KKT SPINE CENTRE, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Lahore and Software House- Virtual University, Lawrance Road, Lahore. She has played a vital role in shaping the new outlook of the SAP by leading team of students for interior designing of entrance lobby of School. She has also been very active in extracurricular activities like arranging annual functions and seminars. Her team player attitude outstands her in every field of professional life. The design services have also been provided by Ms Malik for designing of different buildings within the UMT campus under close alliance of the top management of UMT. She has been invited as external juror at college of art and design (Department of Architecture), Punjab University. Her Research areas include Interior Designing, Architectural Design, Environmental Studies and Housing. She is currently working on her new research paper for submission into another esteemed journal of architecture.
